BBMRI.it biobanks reported 117 grants, with total funding exceeding €9 million across national and European programmes.

The BBMRI.it biobanks continues to demonstrate its ability to attract competitive funding and support high-impact biomedical research. In total, biobanks reported 109 national grants amounting to €8,661,780.56, together with 8 European grants for €382,768.01.

Overall, the network secured €9,044,548.57 through national and European funding streams. This result highlights the strategic role of biobanks as research-enabling infrastructures, supporting academic and industry research.

The funding landscape also confirms the importance of long-term investment in quality systems, data interoperability, FAIR data workflows and access services, all key priorities of the Strengthening BBMRI.it project.
